At REBBL, we condemn racism in all its forms. In our first company value, we say: “We champion and celebrate justice, equity, diversity and inclusion, embodying a spirit of warmth and belonging where everyone is welcome.” We don’t pretend to have all the answers, but we’re committed to listening, learning and being a positive force for change.
We are REBBL With a Cause and we are partnering with actor and activist Ruby Rose on a sweepstakes and drive donations to the Anti-Racism Fund (ARF). For the duration of the sweepstakes, from August 1-21, 2020, we are contributing 5% of online sales to ARF, which takes action by providing capital to organizations as a way to inject social change.
About The Anti-Racism Fund
As a response to the inequities experienced by the Black Community, the Anti-Racism Fund provides a platform to streamline the donation process into targeted organizations that take action to fight injustice at a systemic level. These organizations include: The Bail Project, The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc., Equal Justice Initiative, Black Aids Institute, and TGI Justice Project — all of which support ARF’s Four Pillars of Purpose:
Justice System Reform
Institutional racism permeates every step of the legal system, from policing to sentencing. We identify organizations that specialize in dismantling racial inequalities and uphold American constitutional rights.
Including but not limited to:
- Legal Representation
- Mass Incarceration
- Government Accountability
Education Parity
Education is one the greatest equalizers in eliminating racial disparities in the United States. We support organizations who provide educational opportunities and resources to our communities.
Including but not limited to:
- After School Programs
- Financial Literacy
- Resource Access (laptops, books, etc.)
Health & Wellness Access
The Black community experiences significant disparities throughout the medical system when it comes to access to care, preventive screenings, and mental health. We collaborate with organizations who minimize these gaps in access and care.
Including but not limited to:
- Access to Medication
- Mental Health
- Food Security
Community Outreach & Social Justice Advocacy
To build social, political, and financial strength our community needs support. We partner with organizations that build our community from the ground up.
Including but not limited to:
- Voting Registration & Education
- Music & Arts
- LGBTQIA+ rights
- Economic Parity
REBBL is supporting the Anti-Racism Fund because our company was founded to create positive social and environmental impact. Through our products and partnerships, we address inequities by sourcing ingredients from communities in need of economic empowerment; doing so creates dignified and sustainable livelihoods for these communities and reduces their vulnerability to exploitation. Yet we recognize we must do more to address inequities and injustices closer to home. We are committed to progressing Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (J.E.D.I.).
At the beginning of 2019, REBBL became one of the first companies to join the J.E.D.I. Collaborative, which is an OSC2 network of natural products companies dedicated to address inequity. Last year, we also started an internal J.E.D.I. committee at REBBL to put practices in place. As we move forward, we will be sharing more deeply about the initiatives of our J.E.D.I. Committee. We are working on fostering an inclusive culture that ensures those who have been marginalized are lifted up, heard, and part of decision making. We don’t pretend to have all the answers, but we’re committed to listening, learning and being a positive force for change.
